Your web business is likely to receive product inquiries from potential customers worldwide. Questions come via email with your website, and you try to send information to each enthusiastic person as soon as possible. You know that you can greatly increase the chances of making a sale by satisfying the individual need for immediate information!
But, once you bring that original information to your person, do you send him or her any further information?
Assuming you resemble most internet-based advertisers, you don’t.
If you do not follow that first message with more information over time, you are letting the precious hope depart from your grasp! This is a customer who may have been very fond of your products, but who lost your contact information, or who was too busy to buy when your first message came to him. Often, someone will deliberately postpone a purchase, to see if you find it important enough to follow him later. If he does not receive a tracking message from you, he will move his business elsewhere.
Are you losing out on benefits because of inconsistency and inefficiency in tracking?
Tracking is more than just a process – it is an art. To be effective, you need to design a tracking system, and stick to it, EVERY DAY! If you do not follow your expectations consistently, EACH, and in due course, you may forget the whole tracking process.
The fixed sequence gets results!
When I first started marketing and tracking prospects, I used a tracking system that I now call “List Strategy.” I had a large website with the names and email addresses of people who specifically requested information about my products and services. These hopes had already been received for my first letter by asking for more information, so I used the latest company news as part of the follow-up. I regularly wrote follow-up newsletters, and sent them, through one public post, to anyone who had previously asked for information from me. While this may have helped me win a few extra orders, it was not a very good tracking system. Why is the “List Technique” less effective?
List Technique is different. Proponents of the List Technique often send follow-up messages only when their companies “have big news”.
List Messages does not provide a customer with additional information about the product or service in question. He can not purchase more information after receiving a newsletter! If someone is wondering if your company sells the best knick-knacks, what does it matter to you that you have just relocated your headquarters?
List Technique messages convey the idea of a “big list” to your potential customers. When I used to write tracking messages using the List Technique, I would write stories to everyone I knew! I should have sent a personal message to each person who wanted to know more about my products.
Which tracking method works?
Tracking individual leads, multiple times, but at regular intervals, as well as pre-written messages, will increase sales dramatically! Some users of the same process confirm that they have doubled the sales of various products! To set up this program, however, you need to edit something.
First, you will need to upgrade your tracking messages. If you have been marketing online for a long time, you should already have the first handbook. Your second letter marks the beginning of the tracking process and should go into more detail than the first letter. Fill in this book with details that you did not have space to add to the first letter. Underscore the BENEFITS of your items or administrations!
Your next 2-to 3 messages should be short. List the benefits and potential uses of your products and services. Write each letter so that your prospects can carefully read the content, and see the full potential of your message.
The next few follow-up messages should create a sense of urgency in the mind of the potential winner. Make a special gift, give her a reason to order NOW instead of waiting too long. After reading these tracking messages, your thought should be to order immediately!
Say your last one or 2 messages in the form of a question. Ask your mind why they have not yet placed an order? Try to get him to respond. Ask if the price is high, the product is not the right color or does not have the right features, or if there is something else they want. (At the moment, this person is less likely to order from you. However, his or her response may help you to prepare your tracking books or products, so that other prospects will be ordered from you.)
The timing of your tracking characters is as important as their content. You do not want to be frustrated if you cannot get the right pitch so invest in a good capo.
Always send the first, informative letter as soon as it is requested, and send the first follow-up within 24 hours. You want your hot prospects to be informed quickly, so you can make informed purchasing decisions!
Send the following 2-3 messages separately between 1 and 3 days. Your hope is still hot, and you may still be shopping! Educate him regarding the advantages of your items and administrations, instead of your rivals. You will sell!
Send final tracking messages later. You certainly do not want to upset your hope! Make sure these last letters are separated for at least 4 days.
Successful tracking seems complicated, but it is not necessary! Many potential customers get lost due to poor tracking – don’t you want to be one of the few to fix it?
